06 - "The Perfect Evening"
6x6 - Gallery wrapped canvas
We had a surprise visit from some friends this summer, and we were trying to figure out what to do that evening. The weather was uncertain as it was windy and cloudy most of the day. But we decided we wanted an adventure on the water, so at about 7pm we launched and headed across the Saratoga Passage to Coupeville on Whidbey Island, where I had heard there were some restaurants on the water.
The water was glass. The evening air was perfect. The ride across was smooth and fast. The boat glided across the water. We came to Coupeville and found a fantastic restaurant where we had clam chowder and fish & chips. And when we set back out on the water, the sun was setting and I looked back at the pier and took the photo that this painting is based on.
Not every day is perfect. But this one evening sure seemed like it was.
