Day 5, Painting 5 - "Twilight Magic"
Original painting on gallery wrapped canvas
Old barns like this one are disappearing all over. Often unused because of changes in farming or other reasons, they deteriorate and fade. We've all seen them: once the roof gets damaged, the rest of the building's demise is a certainty. But thankfully, there are still the few, proud barns standing tall. They hold stories and tales and questions. Who built this? What was it used for? What families' well-being have been connected to it? What early mornings and late nights were worked here? What children played in it? When I came across this one last October, I knew I needed to paint it. And I believe it stood a little taller as it relived some of its glory in that early evening light.
